Methyl B12 provides a high dose of the active, coenzyme form of vitamin B12. Cyanocobalamin, the most common form of supplemental B12, must be converted first into hydroxocobalamin, and then into adenosylcobalamin, which is finally converted into methylcobalamin. Taking methylcobalamin directly allows you to bypass this extensive conversion process, and is optimal since it is the specific form of B12 shown to support the brain and nervous system.
