Chitosan is a sugar that is obtained from the hard outer skeleton of marine animals such as shellfish, crab, lobster and shrimp. Chitosan has been used in various industries. Chitosan has been used in water purification plants to absorb greases, oils, metals and toxic substances. Chitosan has been used in the cosmetic and fabric industry also. Chitosan also helps lower cholesterol level in our body.

Cholesterol and your health

Cholesterol serves many functions in our body. It is used to produce the steroid hormones such as estrogen, testosterone and other hormones required for normal development and functioning. Cholesterol is also used by liver to make the bile acid, which breaks down fat. When we eat food that contains fat, a bile is released into the intestine, some of which is absorbed back into the body and some is excreted in the feces. If your blood cholesterol level is too high, cholesterol could deposit in the arteries, forming a plague that can block blood flow in the artery.

Maintaining healthy cholesterol level

There are many ways to manage your cholesterol level, but the key is to raise HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol and lower LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol which deposits on the wall of arteries. Raising HDL keeps cholesterol circulating in blood without attaching to arterial walls, and even snatches up some cholesterol already stuck at the wall. Filling up on fibre which keeps your body from absorbing cholesterol can also help lower cholesterol level.

Many mechanisms have been proposed to explain the alleged cholesterol lowering effect of chitosan. Chitosan has been shown to alter bile acid composition. Cholesterol is required to produce the bile acid, and this is one of the main mechanism by which our body removes excess cholesterol. Chitosan has been shown to combine with the bile acid. The combined product was excreted into the feces, prompting the body to replenish our bile level using cholesterol.

2) Delivery Standards

Orders are typically shipped within 1 business day. Orders placed before 11:00 am EST are usually shipped the same day.

- Canada: Estimated delivery is 1-3 business days via Canada Post or UPS.
- USA: Estimated delivery is 5-10 business days via Canada Post or UPS.
- South Korea: Estimated delivery is 4-5 business days.

3) International Orders: Importing Goods and Taxes

Please verify that your country’s customs laws allow the import of nutritional supplements and herbs. Any customs fees or issues (such as impounding, expenses, losses, or return shipping fees) are the purchaser’s responsibility.

1) Processing Time:
Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1 business day of being placed. Please note that receiving an order confirmation does not signify acceptance, as Caforia reserves the right to refuse processing or shipping of any order.

2) Out of Stock / Back Orders:
If an item is temporarily out of stock, we will notify you by email. If you encounter any issues with your order upon receiving it, contact our Customer Service within one week, and we will assist promptly.

3) Order Cancellation:
If you need to cancel your order, please contact our Customer Service, and we will assist you immediately.

3. Returns and Refunds

Caforia strives to ensure customer satisfaction with our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on products sold directly by Caforia (Seller: Caforia, Manufacturer: David Health). Please note that clearance items and orders outside Canada are eligible for returns only if defective.

1) Return Process

a. Contact Customer Service: Provide your order number, name, the item(s) to be returned, and the reason. Please do not send items before submitting a return request.

b. Return Shipping Fees: Customers are responsible for return shipping fees unless the item is defective or there was a shipping error.

c. Non-Refundable Shipping: Any original shipping costs paid will not be refunded for returns.

Returns are typically processed within two weeks of receipt. Once processed, please allow 2-10 business days for the refund to appear on your payment method, although it may take up to one billing cycle depending on your provider.
