Vitamin D3 aids calcium absorption from the intestine, reduces calcium excretion, and facilitates calcium incorporation into the bones.

Vitamin K2 also plays an important role in protecting bone loss as well as proper heart and brain function. It is a director of calcium, guiding the mineral towards tissues where it is needed, such as in bones, and away from tissues where it could have a negative effect, such as arteries.
